Supported a mid-scale monopoly energy supply & distribution company with the design and delivery of new renewable focused export energy products by developing pricing models, PPA structures, and a revised small export tariff, alongside implementing governance, processes, and reporting frameworks. This included leading stakeholder engagement, creating business cases and documentation, and enabling a more transparent, cost-reflective, and scalable commercial approach to support the energy supplier’s renewable strategy.

Provided hands-on strategic, commercial, and analytical support to a major northern Combined Authority to progress from early Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) exploration into active programme delivery. This included leading the development of a pilot initiative, working with multiple public sector partners to define procurement principles, align stakeholder objectives, and quantify current and future electricity demand. Orez conducted detailed reviews of live market activity and translated lessons into actionable recommendations, while also building standardised datasets and forecasting models to underpin investment decisions. In parallel, Orez supported specific project opportunities, including local authority solar and local energy market pilots, providing commercial analysis, contract structuring insight, and supplier engagement support.

Supported a renewable energy investor-generator by providing targeted commercial, analytical and strategic expertise across its power purchase agreements (PPAs) and route-to-market activities. This included supporting the development and negotiation of an innovative corporate PPA consortium model, conducting detailed financial and market analysis to challenge supplier pricing (notably identifying significant value gaps in existing contracts), and uncovering additional revenue opportunities from mechanisms like REGOs and embedded benefits. Also developed and introduced business intelligence capabilities through Power BI, helping to standardise automate and share core datasets and analysis, improve portfolio visibility, and enable more informed decision-making on pricing, hedging and asset performance. The engagement also extended to advising on investor tariff propositions and defining a broader PPA optimisation and reporting strategy, positioning the client to enhance commercial returns while managing risk across its growing renewable portfolio.

Provided analysis and documentation on the commercial viability, framework, and terms needed. Carried out a broad transformation role at this mid-tier green energy Supplier, focused on improving trading, pricing, forecasting, data and reporting capabilities. Built and structured core data pipelines and dashboards from various sources (including industry data-flows), implemented BI and reporting frameworks, led the selection and rollout of forecasting and pricing platforms, and supported the trading team with risk management, strategy, and systems. Alongside this, Orez identified operational and commercial improvements, delivered training and documentation, and helped shape team structure, resourcing, and decision-making processes to enable more efficient, data-driven operations.
